The race will take place in Baku with the historic streets providing an incredible backdrop to an action-packed weekend of entertainment and sport.
About the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Circuit
The race runs over 51 laps of the 6.003-kilometre track, boasting the second-longest circuit on the Formula One calendar. Weaving through the historic streets of Baku makes this a unique viewing experience for any race go-er. Baku is the newest of the street circuits, joining the likes of Monaco, Melbourne and Singapore. The extensive main straight on the shoreline provides a slipstreaming mecca, cars are able to race three abreast into Turn 1. The track also has narrower more challenging parts, looping around the old town and past Baku’s medieval walls.
As with Monaco the track can be unforgiving, challenging teams on the track to bring only their best to the race. This 6km anti-clockwise circuit is an exciting challenge and setting for the drivers and spectators alike, as it winds around magnificent heritage sites in this ancient city on the Caspian Sea.
