Since its debut in 2012, the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, has served as a cornerstone of modern Formula 1. The 5.513 km track is a brilliant masterclass in design, featuring 20 corners heavily inspired by the world’s greatest venues, including the sweeping, high-speed S-curves of Suzuka and the iconic, stadium-style complexes of Hockenheim. The lap starts with a dramatic, breath-taking uphill climb into a blind Turn 1 hairpin before launching drivers into a demanding mix of low, medium, and high-speed sections.
Set to remain a pillar of the F1 calendar through 2034, the permanent road course requires intense mechanical compromise; teams must configure setups that can handle massive elevation shifts, high aerodynamic loads, and the circuit’s notoriously bumpy, evolving surface, ensuring high-stakes strategic drama and plenty of classic American wheel-to-wheel battles.
Beyond the paddock gates, COTA transforms the race weekend into a massive, festival-style cultural spectacle, blending the energy of Texas with elite motorsport. Drivers and teams fully lean into the local character, donning custom Stetson cowboy hats, fringe, and denim, while showcasing special Texan-themed liveries.
The event boasts massive star-studded concerts on the Super Stage and an electric atmosphere that unites over 430,000 passionate fans.
