Steeped in a rich motorsport legacy that boasts multiple world champions like Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, and the legendary Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian Grand Prix at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos) is a true crown jewel of Formula 1. Measuring a compact 4.309 km, it is one of the shortest yet most physically demanding tracks of the season. The anti-clockwise layout is a thrilling technical challenge, famed for the dramatic 43-meter elevation plunge between the high-speed main straight and the lowest point at Turn 5.
Drivers must conquer the iconic, plunging Senna S corner sequence at the start of the lap, navigating wide, flat kerbs that invite aggressive driving styles. Combined with its high-altitude setting and notoriously volatile, micro-climate weather that can trigger sudden downpours out of nowhere, Interlagos has historically staged some of the most dramatic, unpredictable championship deciders in F1 history.
Nestled in the vibrant outskirts of São Paulo, the race weekend at Interlagos is less of a sporting event and more of an intense cultural phenomenon.
The circuit’s natural amphitheatre design features an undulating pit straight flanked by towering grandstands, creating a roaring, cauldron-like atmosphere where passionate local fans stand directly above the grid to deliver spine-tingling encouragement.
