The BRIT Awards return to Manchester on Saturday 27 February 2027, bringing together some of the biggest names in British and international music for one of the most anticipated nights in the entertainment calendar. Hosted at Co-op Live for a second consecutive year, the 2027 ceremony will also mark 50 years since the first televised BRIT Awards.
With another year of live performances, award presentations and celebrations of musical talent ahead, attention is turning to what the next ceremony will bring. For those planning to attend, it is also an opportunity to experience the BRITs in person, with hospitality options offering a considered way to enjoy the occasion.
Celebrating 50 Years of the BRIT Awards
The BRIT Awards celebrate 50 years since the first televised ceremony in 1977. What began as a showcase for the British music industry has grown into an annual event recognising established artists, introducing emerging talent and celebrating the music that shapes popular culture.
Over the decades, the BRITs have evolved alongside the industry, reflecting changing sounds, new generations of performers and the growing international reach of British music. The awards also support charitable initiatives through the BRIT Trust, which has donated almost £30 million to causes across the UK since its establishment in 1989.
As the ceremony returns to Manchester’s Co-op Live, this milestone brings together five decades of musical history with a new chapter for one of the UK’s best-known entertainment events.
A New Chapter in Manchester
After almost five decades in London, the ceremony moved to Manchester for the first time, taking place at the city’s Co-op Live arena on 28 February 2026.
The move introduced a new setting for the UK’s biggest night in music, bringing the ceremony to a city with a rich musical heritage and a thriving contemporary music scene.
The night itself featured performances from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, RAYE, ROSALÍA and Wolf Alice, alongside EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, the singing voices of HUNTR/X, and producer Mark Ronson. Together, the line-up celebrated the breadth of British and international music, from established artists to emerging talent.
Beyond the awards ceremony, Manchester hosted a wider programme of music and cultural events in the weeks surrounding the show. This included the first BRITs Fringe, city-wide creative activations and additional live performances through BRITs Week for War Child, extending the celebration beyond the arena.
The 2026 ceremony also delivered the BRIT Awards’ biggest global audience to date, underlining the event’s continued reach and influence across the music industry.
