The Austrian Grand Prix
The Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the historic Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, a purpose-built track whose F1 roots trace back to the legendary, high-speed Österreichring. The modern 4.3 km layout is one of the fastest on the calendar, featuring nine long, sweeping turns and dramatic elevation changes of over 63 meters, a height greater than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Situated more than 700 meters above sea level, the circuit challenges teams with highly unpredictable mountain weather, while demanding cars that excel in top speed and fast corners. It is a punishing track where high exit kerbs and strategic gravel traps await any mistake, yet its layout consistently breeds legendary on-track battles. Best of all for spectators, the unique natural amphitheatre design ensures that the majority of the circuit is visible from almost any viewing location.
Beyond the high-octane racing, the Austrian Grand Prix is celebrated for its vibrant, music-festival-like atmosphere, complete with live bands, DJs, and immersive fan activities.
