People tend to think of sports and high-end social events when they consider corporate hospitality. If the truth be known, the list of hospitality events on the DTB calendar is far more extensive. We love having the opportunity to offer such a wide range of opportunities to our clients, including some of the best concerts available. One of the concerts coming up in April is Jeff Lynne's ELO, one of the better concert opportunities the O2 Arena will offer this spring.
Jeff Lynne's ELO is an offshoot of the original Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) of the 1970s and 80s. Lynne and original ELO drummer Bev Bevan started the group in 1970 with guitarist and songwriter Roy Wood. He and Bevan shared ownership of the ELO name and brand, along with many of the songs recorded by the group.
ELO went on to achieve worldwide critical acclaim for their unique blend of electronic instruments and traditional orchestral movements featuring live strings. The band virtually invented the symphonic rock genre that so many others tried to copy. Unfortunately, the group officially disbanded in 1988 after a falling out between Lynne and Bevan.
Bevan went on to sell his share of the ELO name and brand to Lynne, who now uses it to tour with his band. Some of the other original ELO members who enjoy partial ownership of the original group's songs still tour together under the name The Orchestra.
A Concert to Remember
We invite you to contact DTB if you are interested in seeing Jeff Lynne's ELO. We believe this will be a concert to remember, especially if you were a fan of the original group of the 70s and 80s. You will hear some of the band's most memorable tunes including Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, and Xanadu.
Our concert packages can be customised according to your needs and the number of guests in your party. As such, we do not publish any specific prices here on our website. Instead, give us a call and speak to one of our corporate hospitality specialists. We can put together a package that will enable you to entertain your guests with a tremendous concert featuring world-class musicians.
Jeff Lynne's ELO continues to play, more than 40 years after the formation of the original band. Why? Because the music is just that good.
