The Belgian Grand Prix
As one of the original cornerstones of the inaugural 1950 calendar, the Belgian Grand Prix at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is an integral piece of Formula 1 history. Measuring a massive 7.004 km, it is the longest track of the season, weaving through public roads in the breath-taking Ardennes Forest. Far from a relic, the circuit’s old-school character is a firm favorite among drivers and fans alike.
The lap begins with a frantic dash into the tight La Source hairpin before launching drivers down the hill and into the world-famous Eau Rouge, where they compressed into a staggering 15% uphill gradient change. From there, the track flows into the fast, sweeping turns of Pouhon, showcasing an undulating terrain that delivers dramatic elevation changes and notoriously unpredictable weather that can transform the race in an instant.
