What's Included
Your Journey
Arguably the most elegant racecourse in the country, the 2010 four day Ebor Festival will attract only the finest horses and jockeys. Feel the excitement and splendour of York races with a champagne reception and access to the exclusive Orient-Express marquee. Entry badges and racing newspapers are given out on the train.
Your journey begins as you are welcomed by your steward, and shown to your seat. On board, beautifully laid tables with starched tablecloths, along with uniquely branded silverware, emphasise the elegant and comfortable carriages.
Fine dining is a highlight of every journey, and once you have settled into your seat, a delicious brunch with Bellini is served on the outward journey to York. In the care of your steward, sit back and relax in the convivial atmosphere. The journey is as exciting as the destination.
On arrival at York station your guide escorts you on the transfer to the racecourse. Orient-Express has its own private marquee for the afternoon providing race cards and Tote facilities, music and television coverage. A celebrity speaker will go through the race card. Champagne and canapés will be served on arrival and afternoon tea will be served later in the day. There is also a full cash bar service in the marquee.
At the end of the day, return to your coach for the transfer back to York station and re-board the Northern Belle for your return journey. A glass of chilled champagne is served as soon as you board the train; followed by a sumptuous supper accompanied by half a bottle of wine, all served while you recall the best moments of your day.
For sheer variety, class and romance, nothing beats a day out with Orient-Express.
