A leading Investment Bank wanted to hold their annual ‘Managing Directors Conference’ in a Winter location, combining the studios work environment of the conference room with the beautiful scenery of the Alps. In addition to sourcing a large number of single occupancy rooms in a premium style property the venue in question had to have extensive conference facilities and within close proximity to a ski resort. The key requirements for the ski resort were short transfer from the hotel, varied slopes to cater for all abilities and a resort that could cope with large groups.

Solution & Client Feedback
The 45 minute transfer from Zurich, quality accommodation with extensive conference facilities and the close proximity of Engelberg ski resort made The Palace Hotel, Luzern the perfect choice. Being a medieval city set on Lake Luzern there were a wide variety of interesting dinner out options available.
Highlights & Challenges
• Over 200 guests were transferred from the hotel to Engelberg ski resort, equipped with skis and boots, divided into 20 ski groups and onto the slopes all within 90 minutes.
• Boat cruise followed by a fondue evening at a typical Swiss chalet on Lake Luzern
• Motivational speech by Cathy O'Dowd, first woman to climb Everest.
• Comprehensive flight arrangements and transfers to Luzern.
• The number of delegates increased from 175 up to 220, therefore additional bedrooms had to be sourced 2 weeks prior to the event.
