Gaucho International Polo will be the ultimate celebration of the game and its growing popularity. A festival atmosphere will be generated by the multitude of entertainment as well as corporate hospitality, live music, fashion shows, food and drink stalls and a retail village.
The O2 will play host to a remarkable indoor polo event featuring some of the finest polo entertainment available. Three world class matches will be played, culminating in the historic grudge match between EFG's England and Camino Real's Argentina who will slog it out for the ‘Churchill Cup'. More than 12,500 spectators will attend the evening of high octane entertainment.
Arena Polo is a truly exciting form of polo played on a reduced size pitch and with only 3 people per side rather than the usual 4. The result is a fast and exciting game that is extremely spectator friendly played in an intimate and exciting atmosphere where the crowd can see, hear - even smell all the action this highly physical sport provides. The O2 is the perfect place to showcase this great form of the game.
A Thursday evening has been chosen for the event, making it the perfect place for corporate hospitality, Gaucho at The O2 and Gaucho's VIP Bar in the arena, as well as providing a truly special evening out for people to go to after work. The range and quality of the entertainment also make this a great after-school event for families.
The event will start at 2pm with corporate hospitality provided by Gaucho. The first match will be at 5pm - a top class exhibition match. Following that there will be an international game between Scotland and South Africa (6.15pm). A short but highly entertaining celebrity polo match then kicks off at 7.30pm. This all culminates with the Churchill Cup game between EFG's England and their old adversary Camino Real's Argentina. Prize giving is at 8.45pm.
Between games there will be a host of great entertainment, including a celebrity polo-am match. Great thought has gone into making sure that every element of this tournament is world-class and we don't even have to worry about the weather!
Of course, no polo tournament is complete without a players' after-party. For this tournament we will not need to go far. One of the exclusive 2,500 capacity clubs within The O2 will be where the players can be found after the tournament as they host an after-party fitting of such a great tournament.
